If we’re not photographing a wedding on Labor Day, we have a tradition of watching the final stage of the Green Mountain Stage Race in Burlington. It ends with a criterium, which is a 1 km loop where the riders pedal furiously lap after lap. Andy and I both raced in it in our life before photography, but now we like to hang out with friends along the course and cheer on the riders between sips of beer. This year our friend Lea Davison was leading the women’s field through the stage race. Lea is a pro mountain bike racer, who Andy has been coaching for the last couple of years. She is an amazing talent and ended up 2nd in the criterium and won the entire women’s race. It was so fun to watch!
Lea’s in the yellow jersey.

This one is dedicated to my fabulous neighbors who were whining that they’ve never made the blog. It’s not true, but I thought it was a darling photo and totally blog worthy.

Sabra + Lea Davison are on the left and my troop on the right.

Some of Lea’s fans…

Summer finds a good vantage point to watch the race while Baxter hangs out.

A cycling friend, Josh Dillon, before the start of the men’s pro/1 race.

Barrie Fisher’s cute dog, Teak.

Teak’s new friends.

Stefan Bumbeck, a former bike racer too, and my hubby pose for a picture.

up close and personal.

A hat is passed around and the winner of the designated lap gets the cash. It’s called a “prime”.

Some racing action…

Go Josh!

Winding up for the last lap.

The winner of the men’s pro/1 race.

This sign was posted by our table. Someone in Burlington has a cute sense of humor.

Baxter played peek-a-boo under a sandwich board.

And on the other end was this cutie, Stefan’s son.

Summer and Barrie Fisher.

Tons of beautiful posts coming your way…
